Prince Harry Eyes ‘Half-In, Half-Out’ Royal Role Amid Meghan’s Growing Influence, Expert Claims
Prince Harry is reportedly considering a “half-in, half-out” arrangement with the Royal Family as he continues to adjust to life in the United States with Meghan Markle. According to a royal expert, the Duke of Sussex is feeling the weight of his self-imposed exile and misses his friends and family, even as his wife’s influence over their marriage grows.
Speaking to Fox News, the expert suggested that Harry may be open to a renewed relationship with King Charles and the rest of the royal family but believes Meghan would not allow him to fully reintegrate into royal life.
“Harry is in exile – he chose it,” the expert stated. “It’s lonely, and he will undoubtedly miss his friends and family. There is no sign whatsoever of the rift in the Royal Family healing.” The divide remains as King Charles, Prince William, and Princess Kate focus on other priorities, leaving little room for reconciliation.
“King Charles and the Prince and Princess of Wales have, to put it mildly, other priorities,” the expert added. Harry’s military ties, which he lost following his exit from royal duties in 2020, remain a significant point of regret for the Duke. The expert noted that if given the opportunity, Harry would have likely preferred an arrangement that allowed him to maintain those connections while enjoying the freedom of life outside the monarchy.
“I think Meghan is undoubtedly the dominant person in their relationship,” the expert said. “I don’t doubt he wishes they had managed to arrange a half-in, half-out arrangement [with the Royal Family], especially as his military links meant so much to him.”
While speculation around Harry’s royal future continues, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex remain focused on their independent ventures. The couple is set to make a joint appearance at the 2025 Invictus Games in Canada next week, an event that has been one of Harry’s most cherished projects.
Despite tensions with his family, Harry’s deep connection to the Invictus Games underscores his commitment to the causes he championed while still a working royal. Whether his desire for a “hybrid” royal role will gain any traction remains uncertain, especially as King Charles and Prince William have shown little interest in revisiting past negotiations.
For now, Harry’s future with the royal family appears as distant as ever, with his place in both the monarchy and his personal ambitions continuing to evolve under Meghan’s influence.
