Meghan Markle Issues Warning About ‘Flopping’ Archewell Projects and Risk to ‘Perfect Life’ Narrative
Prince Harry’s latest Christmas card, which features him, Meghan, and their children, has taken social media by storm. The card showcases moments from the couple’s 2024 tours and charity work, but it’s one particular image that has sparked significant attention.
In the photo, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are seen running toward their parents with open arms, a moment that body language experts, like Jane Moore, find intriguing—and somewhat concerning.
In her commentary for The Sun, Moore noted that the children’s body language suggested they hadn’t seen their parents in a while, which raised questions about the family’s dynamics. “Whatever. I was more intrigued by the fact that Archie and Lilibet are running into the arms of their parents as if they haven’t seen them for eons,” she observed.
Moore’s thoughts draw a comparison to a similar moment from Princess Diana’s past. She referenced a photo from 1991 when Diana greeted her sons, Harry and William, on the deck of the Royal Yacht Britannia during an official Canadian visit, with arms outstretched in a warm embrace.
For Moore, this comparison highlights the strong emotional connection between parents and children, which makes the distance implied in the Christmas card photo more notable. In her piece, she also raised concerns about the couple’s public narrative.
She warned that using their family life to sustain their commercial ventures, such as their ‘Archewell’ foundation, could risk undermining their carefully curated image. “The scaffolding of their ‘perfect life’ they are narrating risks eroding if they were to use their family life to keep their ‘Archewell’ basket propped up,” Moore cautioned.
Additionally, Moore pointed out the commercial struggles the couple has faced, with various ventures appearing to struggle or “flop.” As she put it, “Everything they touch commercially appears to be struggling. Or ‘flopping’ as US liberal bible The Cut described it last week. Ouch.”
While the Christmas card certainly draws attention, these observations from Moore suggest there are deeper concerns beneath the surface of the couple’s public image, especially regarding their personal and commercial lives.
