Meghan Markle faces allegations of appropriating a Majorcan town’s coat of arms for her newly rebranded lifestyle company’s logo. The Duchess of Sussex, currently undergoing a rebranding process, has come under scrutiny for the similarities between her company’s logo and the official emblem of Porreres, a town in Majorca.
Francisca Mora Veny, the mayor of Porreres, expressed concerns over the issue, telling The Sun: “We don’t want our coat of arms to be perverted because it belongs exclusively to Porreres. “The only difference between their logo and our coat of arms is that theirs shows two hummingbirds, and in ours are either swallows or pigeons — historians cannot agree.

“We will ask Meghan to remove the logo from their website.” Mora Veny also stated plans to personally guide Markle through the town to showcase the historical significance of the emblem. “We will show her all the places where the coat of arms is engraved so she can see it is something that’s been in our town for thousands of years.”

The controversy follows Markle’s recent Instagram announcement about her brand’s new direction, where she wrote: “This new chapter is an extension of what has always been my love language, beautifully weaving together everything I cherish — food, gardening, entertaining, thoughtful living, and finding joy in every day.”
