Trump Promotes Attack on Letitia James as Allies Tease ‘Damaging Receipts’

Former President Donald Trump took to social media on Saturday to amplify claims made by his allies against New York Attorney General Letitia James. The accusations, promoted on Trump’s Truth Social platform, came as another associate hinted at possessing damaging information about James.

Trump shared a post from longtime associate Roger Stone, who accused James of financial misconduct similar to what she has alleged against the former president. “A careful examination of New York Attorney General Letitia James’ financial disclosures shows she inflated the value of her assets in order to get mortgages on various commercial properties—EXACTLY what she falsely accused President Trump of doing,” Stone wrote, though he provided no supporting evidence.

Shortly after Trump boosted Stone’s post, another staunch supporter, right-wing influencer and conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer, took the claims a step further. Loomer, who was closely aligned with Trump during the 2024 campaign, suggested she had incriminating evidence against James and invited powerful figures to help her release it.

“I have very damaging receipts on Letitia James. Much more than what I posted last year, which was shared by @potus. Very powerful people would be able to do massive damage with these receipts in their hands,” Loomer wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Those powerful people have my number. They should call me.”

Neither Stone nor Loomer provided any details or proof to substantiate their claims. The timing of these accusations comes amid James’ high-profile legal battles with Trump, including a civil fraud case that resulted in a ruling against him for inflating his assets.

James, who has remained focused on her legal efforts against Trump, has yet to respond to these latest allegations. However, the aggressive rhetoric from Trump’s allies suggests an ongoing effort to undermine her credibility as she continues to pursue legal action against the former president.

With no concrete evidence backing the claims, the attacks on James appear to be the latest in a series of efforts by Trump’s camp to discredit the attorney general as she leads cases that could have significant legal consequences for him.
