Texas Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (D) made waves over the weekend with a sharp critique of Elon Musk and a pointed “admission” to supporters of Donald Trump’s MAGA movement about immigrants taking jobs.

Crockett, known for her outspoken criticism of Trump and far-right figures like Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, took to social media platform X—ironically owned by Musk—to call out the billionaire’s increasing influence over key U.S. industries and government functions.

“There’s an immigrant taking people’s jobs… his name is Elon Musk,” Crockett posted. She went on to accuse Musk of consolidating control over critical sectors, including agriculture, national security, and regulatory agencies, told The New York Times.

“He’s snatching farms, government jobs (even those in which they manage our national security), and definitely those whose jobs are to root out fraud (inspector generals), & those that are keeping us safe (FAA), meals on wheels workers, head start, and the list goes on,” she wrote.

In a sarcastic nod to conservative rhetoric about immigrants taking American jobs, Crockett added, “So I’ll be the bigger person and admit to MAGA that I was wrong when I said immigrants wouldn’t take our jobs. You were 1000 percent correct.”

Her remarks sparked immediate backlash from critics, with one social media user urging her to “stop government spending.” Crockett fired back, listing several essential government services that would be affected by drastic budget cuts.

“Don’t call for your Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, passport, IRS refund, worry about the planes falling out of the sky, complain when the Ebola cases just found in NY spread like wildfire killing people, nor be upset when there are no cancer medications because research has stopped,” she responded.

The congresswoman continued, warning that cuts to public services would have dire consequences. “Dare have a uniquely abled child because there will be no services for said child, complain about the cost or the lack of safety around our food, and def don’t complain when our enemies attack us,” she added.

Crockett concluded with a blunt message for those dismissing her warnings. “I could go on but you won’t care until something you care about ceases to be available and well that day is coming,” she wrote. “It’s FAFO season… so we will wait for the rest of y’all to catch up.”

The phrase “FAFO” (an acronym for “F*** Around and Find Out”) has been widely used in political discourse to suggest that actions will have consequences. Crockett’s comments reflect the growing divide between progressive lawmakers and figures like Musk, who has positioned himself as a key player in conservative political circles. As debates over government spending and corporate influence rage on, her remarks signal that Democrats are prepared to push back forcefully against right-wing narratives.
