A seven-year-old girl, Olivia Blackmer, who was critically injured after being shot by her mother in a tragic murder-suicide, has died following five days in intensive care. Olivia sustained a severe traumatic brain injury after her mother, Tranyelle Harshman, 32, shot her in the head at their Byron, Wyoming, home on February 10.

Her sisters—Brailey, 9, and twin two-year-old half-sisters Brooke and Jordan—were fatally shot during the incident. Olivia’s stepmother, Katelynn Blackmer, shared the heartbreaking update on a GoFundMe page, revealing that Olivia passed away at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City on Saturday afternoon. “Olivia is with her sisters now.
She gained her angel wings yesterday at 3:44 pm,” Katelynn wrote. She described Olivia’s valiant fight for survival, stating, “She fought so so hard up til the last minute! Her body and her brain had been through too much, medication helped but we reached a point where medical options were exhausted and her body only continued to get worse.”
Harshman, who reportedly struggled with mental health issues, called 911 after shooting her children, directing responders to their location before turning the gun on herself. Officers found her alive at the scene, but she later died at a hospital in Billings. Olivia and Brailey had been splitting their time between their mother’s home in Byron, Wyoming, and their father’s home in Utah.
Olivia’s father, Quinn Blackmer, announced her death on Facebook, expressing gratitude for the support they received. “The peace I find is knowing that my babies don’t have to be apart from each other and they can also be with their other sisters,” he wrote.

Cliff Harshman, the father of Brooke and Jordan, expressed his grief and anger over the loss of his twin daughters. “I’m so angry. I don’t even know how to explain this to you. I’m so angry with her for the decision that was made,” he told KTVQ.
The community has rallied around the grieving families, with the GoFundMe campaign raising funds to cover medical and funeral expenses. The tragedy has left a lasting impact, highlighting the devastating consequences of untreated mental health struggles and domestic violence.
