A series of violent incidents over Thanksgiving week in Georgia and Florida have left multiple families reeling, with three separate cases involving homicides and tragic deaths. Authorities suspect Jamar Calloway, 36, of fatally shooting his girlfriend, Shendora Adams, 36, and her 19-year-old son, Tyiun Adams, in Georgia before fleeing to Ocala, Florida.

On Thanksgiving morning, Calloway reportedly met his parents in the Croskey Recreation Center parking lot, where he confessed to the killings. When he realized police were nearby, Calloway shot himself in the head.

He was transported to a hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries around midnight. Details surrounding the shootings, including their exact time and location, remain under investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), told WSB-TV.

In Augusta, Georgia, 46-year-old Tony Horne was arrested for allegedly killing his brother and sister-in-law, William Horne, 49, and Carol Horne, 52, at their home in a trailer park on Mystic Lane. According to authorities, Tony Horne lived with the couple and was taken into custody at the scene.

A shocked neighbor shared their disbelief, saying, “I was just over there yesterday, and they were fine. I’m really going to miss my friend.” Horne is being held at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center as the investigation continues.

In another tragic case, a 16-year-old boy, Ashton Nicholas Moon, was shot and killed on Monday at the Oak Forest Apartments in Georgia, just days before his birthday. Police arrived at the scene to find Moon suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Moon did not survive.

Authorities have arrested the alleged shooter, described as a close family friend. The circumstances leading to the shooting remain unclear, and police are investigating.

These heartbreaking incidents have cast a pall over the Thanksgiving holiday, leaving families and communities grappling with grief. While investigators work to uncover the motives behind each case, the senseless loss of life highlights the devastating impact of gun violence across the region.
