A British tourist described as someone who “lived life fiercely” tragically lost her life after being fatally shot while on holiday at her father’s home in Texas. Lucy Harrison, 23, from Warrington, Cheshire, was visiting her father in Prosper, TX, when she became the victim of gunfire on January 10, according to Cheshire Police.

During an inquest at Warrington Coroner’s Court on February 12, the coroner was informed: “Ms. Harrison was on holiday in the USA when she was fatally shot with a firearm.” The hearing was opened and then adjourned. Lucy, a former student at Manchester Metropolitan University, was remembered in heartbreaking tributes by her mother and boyfriend, who described her as being full of life and love.

“Lucy was life. She lived it fiercely and fearlessly, not being afraid to feel all that life has to offer. Lucy unashamedly loved – she had a huge capacity to love and be loved.” Her loved ones painted a picture of a young woman full of contrasts, saying:

**“She was the embodiment of wonderful contradictions; she adored travel and being away, experiencing new places and cultures, yet at the same time, she loved nothing more than snuggling up in her pajamas with her candles on at home.

“She could be dramatic and elaborate situations like it was the end of the world, yet she could also be straight-talking and not afraid to have bold conversations. She was truly thriving in life and although this gives us great comfort, we are utterly heartbroken at the loss of our beautiful, gorgeous Luce.”**

Cheshire Police confirmed to the Liverpool ECHO that Lucy died on January 10 at her father’s home in Prosper, a town located about 40 miles north of Dallas.

Authorities have not yet provided details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting. However, an inquest into her death has been officially opened, with proceedings set to resume on Friday, March 28, 2025. As loved ones continue to mourn, the investigation remains ongoing, with many still searching for answers in the wake of this devastating loss.
