President Donald Trump has announced a temporary pause on all military aid to Ukraine following a heated public dispute with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Fox News correspondent Lucas Tomlinson reported Monday evening.
The suspension will remain in effect until Trump “determines the Ukrainians show a commitment to good faith peace negotiations,” Tomlinson tweeted, citing a senior Trump administration official. “This is not permanent termination of aid, it’s a pause,” the official emphasized. “The orders are going out right now.”

According to Tomlinson, the decision was made in response to Zelensky’s “conduct” over the past week. Barak Ravid, global affairs correspondent for Axios, corroborated the report, citing two White House officials. “President Trump has been clear that he is focused on peace. We need our partners to be committed to that goal as well.
We are pausing and reviewing our aid to ensure that it is contributing to a solution,” a White House official told Ravid. Tensions between Trump and Zelensky came to a head last Friday during an Oval Office meeting that quickly escalated into a heated confrontation. What started as a routine diplomatic discussion soon turned into an intense exchange in front of stunned reporters and White House officials.
During the final minutes of the meeting, Trump accused Zelensky of “gambling with World War III” and suggested that Ukraine lacked the necessary leverage in its ongoing conflict with Russia. The situation worsened as Trump and Senator J.D. Vance criticized Zelensky for what they perceived as a lack of gratitude for U.S. military assistance—despite multiple prior instances of the Ukrainian leader expressing appreciation.
