Tana Mongeau has become candid about her ongoing struggles with mental health and alcohol addiction, especially in the wake of the ongoing controversy surrounding her podcast Cancelled. The 26-year-old YouTuber and internet personality shared her personal battle with her audience during a recent episode, revealing the toll it has taken on her mental well-being.

“My mental health has been and is inarguably one of the worst states of my entire life,” Tana admitted, opening up about the difficult period she’s going through. She went on to explain how her coping mechanisms have become increasingly dangerous, saying, “And the way I deal with that is very scary.”

As criticism continues to mount from her fans regarding Cancelled and her podcast’s content, Tana confessed that her original plans for dealing with her issues have gone awry. “I think that was a beautiful plan but I was not accounting for all of the things that would then go down,” she shared.

Tana further revealed how the combination of stress, mental health struggles, and alcohol has worsened her situation. “And then when you’re already drinking and sh-t’s just going down and you’re stressed and you want to f—–g die, it’s hard because that’s a coping mechanism I’ve always, always leaned on,” she explained. “In a perfect world, I would be at Passages Malibu,” referring to the luxury rehab facility.

She went on to reflect on how her mental health decline led her back into old patterns of substance abuse. “I think I was doing pretty well at being moderate until – and I’m not blaming anything on that – that’s just myself and my chemical makeup,” Tana said. “As my mental health declined I noticed myself falling into the same coping mechanism that I have and always will love – which is substance abuse.”

Despite her struggles, Tana expressed a strong desire to overcome her addiction, stating, “I’m definitely in a place now where I want to kick that. But I’m always in that f—–g place.” Tana’s openness about her mental health and addiction has sparked a conversation about the pressures influencers face and the importance of seeking help during tough times.
