As she prepares for her first tour in seven years, pop icon Katy Perry is opening up about how she and fiancé Orlando Bloom support each other through their demanding careers. In an interview with E! News, Perry, 40, revealed that Bloom, 48, fully understands the challenges of her upcoming Lifetimes Tour, drawing parallels between her world tours and his intense film projects.
“I’m preparing to go on this world tour and he understands that,” Perry said. “It’s just like when you’re preparing to do a movie, and some of the movies he’s done are even more physically intense, mentally intense than any of these tours.”
Despite their hectic schedules, the Dark Horse singer emphasized how her relationship with Bloom and their family life provide stability and a sense of identity beyond fame.
“It’s great to have a family to come home to and a whole identity outside of being ‘Katy Perry’ and music,” she shared. “I’m really proud of what I created and the time that I have had off because it’s super grounding for me.”
Perry, who shares a three-year-old daughter, Daisy, with Bloom, also highlighted how understanding each other’s love languages has strengthened their relationship. She explained that knowing what makes a partner feel valued can help alleviate stress in daily life.
“I like to look after people and I like to make sure everyone’s having a great time. I find joy in other people’s joy,” she said, noting that her primary love language is acts of service.
