Hoda Kotb Set for Major Earnings Boost After Exiting ‘Today’ Show: Report

Hoda Kotb’s decision to step down from her co-hosting role on the Today show after 17 years is reportedly a move that will benefit her in the long run, both professionally and personally. According to an insider who spoke to Us Weekly, the 60-year-old television star is set to earn significantly more through new ventures.

“She’s going to earn way more than she did at the Today show,” the source revealed. “Now that she’s not full-time at NBC, Hoda’s going to be working with brands and can be paid to endorse them.”

The insider also highlighted Kotb’s potential for other lucrative opportunities, adding, “She also could make several hundred thousand dollars for speaking engagements on subjects like, ‘changing your life at 60.’”

Kotb officially announced her departure from Today on January 10, 2025. Her decision was influenced by a desire to focus more on her family and to explore a new chapter in her life.

In an interview with PEOPLE magazine, Kotb reflected on the motivations behind her career shift. “I’ve had yearnings, and you know when something’s pulling you? It’s like you either go toward it or you shove it down and say, ‘Nope, this is the way. I’m going to stay here because it’s safe,’” she explained.

Kotb acknowledged that staying at NBC would have been the more conventional choice, noting, “It does make more sense to stay at NBC. I’m financially secure, and I would have job security. I mean, why would you ever not do that?”

However, her focus turned to her role as a mother. “I’ve been watching my kids, and I was thinking to myself, I wonder what I’m missing?” she said, revealing her desire to be more present for her two daughters, Haley and Hope.

Kotb’s departure from Today marks the end of an era for the popular morning show, but it also opens up new possibilities for her to connect with audiences in different ways. Whether through brand endorsements, speaking engagements, or other ventures, Kotb’s next chapter promises to be both rewarding and meaningful as she balances professional opportunities with her personal life.
