Brandi Glanville is sharing the emotional and physical toll of battling stress-induced angioedema, a condition that caused her face to swell and led to the loss of five teeth. In an exclusive interview with The US Sun, the reality star opened up about how the condition has affected her appearance and self-confidence, while also detailing the steps she’s taking to rebuild her smile.

“I’m not quite back to normal yet,” Brandi said, reflecting on the changes she’s experienced. “People keep asking me if I’ve lost weight, and I haven’t, I’ve actually gained weight, but I’ve lost teeth, lost five teeth out of my head, so my face has been looking really thin.”

Brandi also shared the support she’s received from a friend during her recovery journey. “My girlfriend Phaedra [Parks] was at the dentist, and she was just telling my story to her friend, the dentist, Dr. Anj [Rajpal],” Brandi explained. “Dr. Anj just wanted to help. It’s the holidays.

She’s giving me the gift of smiling again, and we’re in the process, so I have one new tooth in the back, which I’m so excited about.” The impact on Brandi’s emotional well-being was also evident as she joked about her fears of not being able to smile.

“You don’t feel good if you can’t smile,” she said, adding, “I was joking with my son yesterday, because, you know about the Housewives, I’m like, I’m toothless, not homeless. I’m not the other way around, but I could be homeless very soon if I don’t get a job.”

Brandi went on to explain how stress-induced angioedema contributed to her dental issues. “When your face swells up and goes down, and swells up again, your teeth shift,” she said. “I had an old bridge, and unbeknownst to me, there was an infected tooth underneath it.”

She credited the condition for forcing her to examine her dental health. “If it hadn’t happened, that tooth could have caused a lot more damage than it did,” she admitted. Brandi’s condition resulted in the removal of a bridge and the discovery of a broken tooth that had been there for an unknown amount of time.

“We had to remove the bridge because my teeth were shifting, and that’s when we discovered a broken tooth,” she said. “When we pulled that one, we realized we had to pull two more. So now, I’m missing five teeth.”

Despite the ongoing challenges, Brandi remains focused on recovery, saying, “I’m on better medication to help with my depression, so I’m just trying to pivot and change my outlook, instead of, you know, poor me.”

She ended on a note of determination, “It’s time to make it happen… I have a family to support, and it is the holidays, and the savings are close to being depleted.”
