New information has emerged regarding Wendy Williams’ relocation to a memory care unit within her assisted living facility. Contrary to earlier reports linking the move to her dementia diagnosis, sources indicate it was due to an incident at the facility’s restaurant.
According to an employee at the facility who has interacted with Williams, she was initially placed on the third floor, where residents have unrestricted movement. However, early in her stay, Williams visited the top-floor restaurant and bar for lunch and began consuming alcohol.

“Wendy began ordering drinks and got drunk,” the source revealed to TMZ. The prolonged stay and the discovery that she had been served alcohol enraged supervisors. Concerned about a recurrence, the administration decided to relocate Williams to the fifth-floor memory unit, where her access to the elevator would be restricted.
The decision was based on the facility’s desire to prevent Williams from returning to the restaurant and drinking again. However, at the time, no rooms were available in the memory unit, so Williams remained on the third floor under strict supervision. Employees were stationed outside her room to ensure she did not attempt to visit the restaurant.

“Employees told Wendy the restaurant was under construction and was not operating,” TMZ reported, citing a source. A few days later, when a room became available on the fifth floor, Williams was transferred there. She has remained in the unit for months. In the TMZ documentary, Williams revealed she had only been outside twice in a month, both times for dental appointments.

Despite her placement in the memory unit, the employee insisted that Williams’ cognitive abilities remain sharp. “Wendy doesn’t have good and bad days. She’s the same all the time,” the source told TMZ. “You can tell her something today and two weeks later she’ll remember it. Her memory is fine.”
In recent developments, Williams reunited with her son, Kevin Hunter Jr., in Miami. A friend of Kevin’s, Ronald, shared videos of their emotional meeting. “Yep, she was extremely happy to see Kev today,” read the caption on one of the clips. In another post, Ronald added, “Truth will prevail.”
