Kanye West Called Out for Hypocrisy After Dressing Bianca Censori in Sheer Outfit Despite Shaming Kim Kardashian

Kanye West is being called out for hypocrisy after dressing his wife, Bianca Censori, in a sheer, nearly nude outfit for the 2025 Grammy Awards—despite publicly criticizing his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, for dressing “too sexy” just six years ago.
Resurfaced footage from Keeping Up With the Kardashians Season 17 shows West reprimanding Kardashian ahead of the 2019 Met Gala, telling her that her revealing Thierry Mugler dress “hurt” his soul.
Now, with Censori appearing in an entirely sheer mini dress with no undergarments at the Grammys—at West’s urging—social media users have been quick to label the rapper’s stance contradictory.
West’s Criticism of Kim Kardashian in 2019
In the resurfaced clip, Kardashian is seen preparing for the Met Gala, where she wore a form-fitting, corseted nude-colored gown designed to look “dripping wet.” The reality star had spent eight months perfecting the look, only for West to voice his disapproval at the last minute, per Daily Mail.
“Like the corset, underwear, all of that vibe, I just feel like I just went through the transition where, from being a rapper, like, looking at all these girls, looking at my wife, like, ‘Oh, my girl needs to be just like the other girls showing her body off, showing this, showing that,'” West told Kardashian.
He continued, “I didn’t realize that was affecting my soul and my spirit as someone that’s married and [in] love and the father of now, about to be, four kids.” Kardashian, frustrated by his sudden change of heart, fired back.
“Just because you’re on your journey and your transformation, doesn’t mean that I’m in the same spot with you,” she said, referring to West’s spiritual awakening at the time. West ultimately stormed out of the conversation, but not before declaring, “You are my wife, and it affects me when pictures are too sexy.”
Bianca Censori’s Grammy Outfit Sparks Criticism
Fast-forward to the 2025 Grammy Awards and West now appears to be taking the opposite stance. Censori arrived in a large fur coat, which she removed at her husband’s direction, revealing a sheer mini dress made of stocking material.
West, meanwhile, remained fully clothed, standing behind her as cameras captured the moment. The stark contrast between West’s past condemnation of Kardashian’s revealing outfits and his apparent encouragement of Censori’s provocative look has not gone unnoticed. “That wasn’t love, that was him trying to control her and he couldn’t. But Bianca, he can,” one Instagram user commented.
Adding to the controversy, Page Six reported that West and Censori were escorted out of the Grammys by police, though another source claimed they left voluntarily. With the internet ablaze over West’s conflicting messages on women’s fashion, the debate over his influence on Censori—and his evolving stance on female empowerment—continues to fuel speculation.
