King Charles may soon ramp up pressure on his brother, Prince Andrew, to vacate the Royal Lodge, amid the fallout from his involvement in the Chinese spy scandal and other controversies that have cast a shadow over the royal family.

Reports indicate that Prince Andrew will skip the annual Royal Christmas celebration at Sandringham this year, opting instead to spend the holiday at the 30-room Royal Lodge in the company of his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, and their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

Royal commentator Sarah Louise Robertson suggested that this could be Prince Andrew’s last Christmas at the Royal Lodge due to “mounting pressure” on him to leave the estate. “Given obviously what’s unfolded over the last week, further embarrassment that Andrew’s heaped on the King and the Royal Family, they decided that they should keep a low profile,” Robertson said, referencing the recent scandal surrounding Andrew.

Robertson continued, discussing Andrew’s absence from the royal walkabout and his decision to forgo staying in Wood Cottage this year. “We won’t be seeing Andrew on the royal walkabout, and he’s not going to be staying in Wood Cottage this Christmas like he did last year,” she explained to GB News. “He’s going to be staying at Royal Lodge with Sarah Ferguson, and their two daughters are both spending Christmas with their in-laws.”

Looking ahead, Robertson speculated that the royal family could exert more pressure on Andrew to move out of the Royal Lodge in the coming year. “I think next year we’re going to see more pressure heaped on Andrew to move out of Royal Lodge and to go into a smaller property on the Windsor estate,” she predicted.

However, Robertson clarified that Andrew would not be left homeless or in a dire situation. “It’s not like he’s going to be left out in the cold, homeless, so to speak. And like other people, he’s not being turfed out onto the street,” she added.

As Prince Andrew faces ongoing scrutiny, particularly over his connections to the Chinese spy scandal, it appears that King Charles may be taking steps to distance the royal family from his controversies and restore the monarchy’s image.
