Shawn Farash Delivers Spot-On Trump Voicemail to Adam Schiff: ‘Thank You, Shifty Schiff’
Donald Trump has long been a favorite subject for impersonators, thanks to his larger-than-life persona and theatrical character. Even before his presidency, Trump was often mocked, with Alec Baldwin’s portrayal of him on Saturday Night Live gaining widespread attention during the 2016 campaign.
However, Baldwin isn’t the only comedian to capture Trump’s distinctive voice. Last year, comedian Shawn Farash went viral on X (formerly Twitter) with a hilarious video impersonating Trump while leaving a voicemail for California Representative Adam Schiff.
The prank voicemail was in response to Schiff’s involvement in what some of his Republican colleagues called a politically motivated effort against Trump. According to Newsweek, Farash posted the video in which he expertly mimicked Trump’s voice to leave a message on Schiff’s office line.
“Well, this message is for the Honorable Adam Schiff. They call you the Honorable Adam Schiff and I just have to say, Shifty, you were censured by the House of Representatives because Russia, Russia, Russia was a hoax. It was a complete and total hoax,” Farash, as Trump, stated in the message.
He continued with a mocking tone, asking for an apology and adding, “Thank you, Shifty Schiff, pencil neck, bug eyes, watermelon head. I look forward to talking to you soon.” The video quickly garnered praise from users on X, who were impressed by Farash’s near-perfect Trump impersonation.
One user commented, “Damnnnn .. this guy is good…could’ve fooled me … hilarious.” Another wrote, “You are the absolute best impersonation. No one compares, imo.” A third fan mused, “I wonder if Trump has ever seen/heard this impression. Just a guess, but I kinda think he would love it tbh. Great impression, Shawn. You’ve got that down pat!”
Farash isn’t the only one to have impersonated Trump. Since 2005, Robert Ensler has been performing his own Trump impersonation, often attending conferences and parties, and giving keynote addresses in character, according to CBS News. In 2016, artist Alison Jackson created a memorable scene outside Trump Tower with a Trump impersonator surrounded by bikini-clad women.
Comedian Jimmy Fallon has also gained attention for his Trump impressions, with one of the most notable moments being when Fallon performed the impression directly for Trump during an episode of The Tonight Show, as reported by WatchMojo. However, it’s Baldwin’s portrayal on Saturday Night Live that has really drawn Trump’s ire. The President-elect frequently lashes out at the show, criticizing its bias and claiming Baldwin’s impersonation only gets worse.
