Brad Pitt Ordered by Court to Provide Documents Deemed Crucial by Angelina Jolie’s Lawyer
The legal battle between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt over their Chateau Miraval winery took another dramatic turn on Monday, November 25, as a judge ordered Pitt to produce documents that Jolie’s legal team claims will expose damaging allegations.
According to Jolie’s lawyer, Paul Murphy, the requested files, which include emails, messages, and other written communications, could reveal “communications concerning abuse, lies to authorities, and years of cover-up” by Pitt. Murphy described these documents as “crucial evidence,” alleging they are central to the case and to the harm Jolie and her children have endured.
Pitt’s lawyers previously pushed back against Jolie’s motion, dismissing her demands as a “sensationalist fishing expedition” and “wide-ranging and intrusive.” However, the court’s recent decision marks a significant development in the high-stakes dispute.
Murphy emphasized that Jolie never intended for matters to escalate this far. “She never pressed charges, she left all their properties, and she is the one who tried to sell him the business in the first place,” he explained. “To this day, Mr. Pitt has never been held accountable for his actions and has at all times controlled Miraval and the winery, yet he still demands more.”
The lawyer underscored Jolie’s desire to bring the conflict to a close. “She wants this to end, the children want this to end, and Mr. Pitt should focus on healing their family, not pursuing lawsuits.” However, Murphy warned that if Pitt continues to press forward, Jolie is prepared to defend herself in court, presenting evidence to counter his allegations.
“If he does not,” Murphy said, “Angelina will defend herself in court by presenting the evidence necessary to demonstrate that Pitt’s allegations are demonstrably false.” The estranged couple’s legal feud centers on Chateau Miraval, a sprawling estate and winery in France renowned for its award-winning sparkling rosé.
Jolie and Pitt purchased the estate during their marriage but have since been embroiled in a long-running dispute over its ownership and management following their divorce. As the case unfolds, the battle over Miraval has become a high-profile symbol of the broader tensions between the former couple. With new evidence on the horizon, the stakes appear higher than ever in this contentious legal saga.
