Country singer Megan Moroney has finally addressed the longstanding rumors about her relationship with fellow country star Morgan Wallen. During an appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast Wednesday, Moroney candidly discussed the dating speculations that have persisted since 2022.
“It was never a relationship,” the “Tennessee Orange” singer revealed. Moroney, 26, met Wallen, 31, before the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 while she was still a senior in college. “We were friends for a long time,” she said. “[But] we were not just friends.”
Although there was a “little thing” between them, the “I’m Not Pretty” singer clarified that they were “never officially dating.” The Georgia native also mentioned that it wasn’t difficult to keep their affair a secret because of Wallen’s “very private” lifestyle, as per reports The Sun.
“As I said, we weren’t exclusively dating ever, and I think both of our schedules… like when we would try to hang out, it’d be like, okay, we have this one day of the whole month where we’re both maybe in town.”
After years of trying to “avoid” discussing the nature of their relationship, Moroney decided to open up because she felt enough “time has passed.”
