Dave Coulier’s Wife Shares Heartfelt Update on His Cancer Battle
Melissa Coulier, wife of Full House star Dave Coulier, opened up about the comedian’s ongoing battle with cancer and the challenges of his treatment during a recent interview with WXYZ. Melissa revealed that the 64-year-old actor is enduring “really tough days” as his chemotherapy progresses.
“And as the chemo has been accumulating, it gets a little tougher and more difficult,” she explained. Despite the physical and emotional toll, Melissa shared that Dave is maintaining a “positive attitude,” crediting his humor and resilience as essential tools in his fight. “He has such a positive attitude, and you need that in order to really fight it,” she said.
Melissa described how they try to find joy in everyday moments, even during the hard days. “Every morning, if he’s feeling up for it, we try to put on a song and do a little dance party with the dogs, because when you do feel good, you have to celebrate that too.”
Dave has also drawn strength from the experiences of his family, many of whom have battled cancer. “He has had a lot of loss in his life when it comes to having to deal with cancer. He lost his mother, his sister, and his niece. His other sister had it,” Melissa shared. “I think for him, he takes every stride and really pulls strength from seeing the women that were so close in his life powering through it, and he just wants to honor them.”
The Full House star was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a type of cancer that affects the lymphatic system. According to the Mayo Clinic, “Non-Hodgkin lymphoma happens when germ-fighting cells in the lymphatic system grow out of control.”
Dave Coulier, best known for his role as Joey Gladstone on the beloved sitcom Full House, has faced his health challenges with the same spirit and humor that endeared him to audiences for decades. Fans have rallied behind the actor, offering support and admiration for his courage and determination.
